Matmos Announce Summer Tour
Baltimore transplants, Matador recording artists, and conceptual electronic knob twiddlers Matmos have revealed their North American tour in support of the forthcoming album Supreme Balloon. The all-synthesizer LP comes out May 6 in the U.S. (May 5 in the UK and Europe), and the tour takes place in July.
M.C. Schmidt and Drew Daniel (a Pitchfork contributor) will be joined on the tour by two acts with awesome minimal names: Wobbly and Snacks.
Before that trek, Matmos will head to Europe for a few dates in June. And even before that, tomorrow night, April 17, Daniel will read from his recently published 33 1/3 series book about Throbbing Gristle at Red Emma's in Baltimore. He'll also spin a Throbbing Gristle DJ set at Liam's Pint Size Pub earlier in the evening.
Finally, we now have the Supreme Balloon tracklist, and it is listed after the jump. Yes, it's only seven songs, but take note: the title track is 24 minutes long.
