Grand Archives, Helio Sequence Do Air Race, Tours
Nothing quite says indie rock like, um, little airplanes chasing each other around over San Diego Bay. In this spirit, the 2008 Red Bull Air Race has invited a couple indie rock aces to provide a little pre-party pep-up for the pilots and plane geeks at this weekend's big event.
Red Bull Air Races take over metropolises around the world this year, and the next one hits San Diego May 3 and 4. To get the masses even more pumped following last night's Cut Copy gig, they're hosting a "Red Bull Air Race Terminal Party" at the "Red Bull Terminal" in the city's downtown on May 3. Entertainment of the musical variety will be provided by Sub Pop's very own Grand Archives and the Helio Sequence, among others.
And hey, while we're on the subject of Sub Pop's very own Grand Archives and the Helio Sequence, we'd be remiss not to mention that both acts also have loads of their own tour dates. Said dates find these guys supporting their respective 2008 offerings, The Grand Archives and Keep Your Eyes Ahead, and playing a bunch of the same venues, though not together. A third Sub Popper, Sera Cahoone, joins old pals Grand Archives at most of their gigs.
