Detroit area culture mag Detour will restate the city's non-car-manufacturing claim to fame next month with the arrival of its Rock City Music Festival. From June 12-14, over 50 bands will play at the Majestic Theater Center and the Contemporary Art Institute of Detroit, the latter home to the festival's Saturday afternoon barbecue.
Among the names on Rock City 2008's bill are Sloan, the Von Bondies, Thunderbirds Are Now!, Friendly Foes, Javelins, Matt & Kim, the Death Set, VHS or Beta, Apes, Zoos of Berlin, Child Bite, and Juiceboxxx.
