Tricky Returns With First LP in Five Years

Tricky Returns With First LP in Five Years Hey, if Portishead can come back swinging after nearly a dozen years away, surely Tricky can make up for five, right? Er, hold on answering that one for a second while we discuss Knowle West Boy, the first LP in half a decade from the brooding trip-hop pioneer.

The set, produced by Tricky with a little help from dude-of-the-moment Switch, is due July 7 in the UK and September 9 in the States from Domino Records. Knowle West Boy's first single, "Council Estate", arrived today (June 23) digitally and lands June 30 physically in the UK; scope the track's video right now via the link below or on the album's website.

Fans with a little time to kill are invited to head to said website, and-- for the price of an email address-- download all the parts of "Council Estate" for remix fodder. Tricky would very much like folks to send him those remixes (via an email address on the album site) for indeterminate reasons. Tricky indeed, or something.
