Jennifer O'Connor's New LP Gets Here in August
Recorded in Brooklyn with producer John Agnello, Jennifer O'Connor's Here With Me-- her fourth LP and second for Matador-- is due August 19. O'Connor, with instrumental help from Jon Langmead, Michael Brodlieb, Michael Strandberg, and, briefly, Franz Nicolay of the Hold Steady, cranked the sucker out in a matter of twelve days.
Of course, those speedy sessions are hardly the sum total of the recording O'Connor's been up to of late. Her 7" label, Kiam Records, recently issued her long-promised split single with Yo La Tengo bassist James McNew's side project, Dump, on white vinyl.
Nor are these the only cool pairings O'Connor's involved in, either, as she's on the road now with Jamie Lidell, and will tour some with Son, Ambulance in July and Wilco in August.
