BSS, De La Soul, Zombies, Calexico Play Detroit Cityfest

Though it's changed names a time or two since its inception, this year's Comerica Cityfest is nevertheless the 20th in the event's history. And, like any good 20 year old would, Cityfest plans to throw caution to the wind and stretch the party to its breaking point.

Helping ring in Cityfest's big 2-0 are the likes of Broken Social Scene, De La Soul, the Zombies, George Clinton and Parliament-Funkadelic, Calexico, Seun Kuti and Egypt 80, NOMO, Grupo Fantasma, Great Lakes Myth Society, the Dirty Dozen Brass Band, Thunderbirds Are Now!, former Detroit Cobra Steve Nawara's new thing Magic Shop, and a whole mess of others. Also: Aly & AJ. Yes!

The free fest takes place July 2-6 at a number of spots in the Motor City's New Center.
