Black Ghosts, Simon Lord's Lord Skywave Prep LPs
Black Ghosts hit the road
The self-titled debut LP from hotly-tipped dance duo the Black Ghosts, featuring beats from Theo "Touché" Keating and vocals from former Simian crooner Simon Lord, is due July 8 on IAMSOUND. The set sports some high-profile guest vocals from Blur frontguy Damon Albarn on the track "Repetition Kills You", and plenty more appealingly gloomy electro pop where that came from. It emerges in the middle of the group's continent-spanning current tour.
And, wouldn't you know it, Simon Lord's got himself a solo LP on the way too. The self-titled debut album from his Lord Skywave project-- named for the line of synthesizers crafted by his father in the 1970s, and responsible for all of the album's bass/electronic sounds-- is due June 9 in the UK from This Is Music. The disc emerges not long before a June 19 This Is Music label showcase at London's Hoxton Bar, at which Lord Skywave will appear.
