Giving similar-sized festivals the world over a run for their money, the 2008 edition of Primavera Sound welcomed a preeminently enviable assortment of vets and upstarts alike to Barcelona's Parc del Fòrum over the weekend and then some, with nary a bum act on the bill.
The first of the fest's three main days, Thursday, May 29, witnessed the likes of Portishead, De La Soul, Explosions in the Sky, the Notwist, Caribou, Boris, Vampire Weekend, Dr. Octagon, Eric's Trip, Mount Eerie, HEALTH, Enon, Edan & MC Dagha, and the one and only Public Enemy, giving folks across the pond a little ATP-sponsored preview of the It Takes a Nation of Millions to Hold Us Back run-through they'll serve up at this summer's Pitchfork Music Festival.
Also pictured: the Clientele, who performed at a Primavera satellite event on Wednesday, May 28.
Stay tuned for shots of Friday and Saturday's attractions.
