Giving similar-sized festivals the world over a run for their money, the 2008 edition of Primavera Sound welcomed an enviable assortment of vets and upstarts alike to Barcelona's Parc del Fòrum over the weekend, with nary a bum act on the bill.

The last of the fest's three days, Saturday, May 31, witnessed the lovable likes of Animal Collective, Clipse, Stephen Malkmus & the Jicks, Silver Jews, Les Savy Fav, Deerhunter and Atlas Sound, Tindersticks, Okkervil River, Dirty Projectors, Shellac, Bon Iver, Times New Viking, and Rufus Wainwright, plus those adorable tweesters Throbbing Gristle and a reunited Young Marble Giants.
