Free Blood Send Second 12" Stateside via DFA

Departure from acclaimed main band: check. Formation of freewheeling new project: check. Procurement of Hot Chip remix: check. Everything's in place so far for former !!! member John Pugh and fashion designer Madeline Davy's venture into music together as Free Blood. And despite the recent release of their first single for DFA ("Never Hear Surf Music Again" with B-side "Quick and Painful", released in cooperation with Rong), they're not slowing down.

Free Blood will release their next Rong/DFA 12" in the U.S. on July 15. The single is for "Royal Family" and features "Grumpy" on the B-side. "Royal Family" producers the Brothers contribute a remix of that track to the single, and Greg Wilson's remix of "Grumpy" also appears on the 12".

The original tracks from the aforementioned singles (both of which are available now in the UK on Adventures Close to Home) will appear on the Brooklyn duo's debut full-length, which comes out via Rong/DFA this fall. Free Blood have a few parties to rock before then.

Free Blood:

07-12 New York, NY - P.S.1 Contemporary Art Center
07-19 Miami, FL - Poplife 9th Anniversary Party
08-12 New York, NY - Spiegelworld (Bust Magazine 15th Anniversary Celebration)
