T.I. Signs Three-Picture Movie Deal
In less than a week, T.I. has gone from future small-screen reality star to future silver screen staple. The Atlanta rapper, who early next year has to start serving a one-year prison sentence for gun convictions, has agreed to a three-film deal with Screen Gems Studios, according to Variety.com [via Nah Right]. Suffice it to say, the deal is a step up for Clifford Harris from ATL and the supporting role he had in American Gangster.
Variety.com reports the first of these movies will be Bone Deep, which "concerns a group of bank robbers who pull off a daring highrise heist and are dragged into one last job by a freshly paroled cohort." Matt Dillon and Idris Elba (aka Stringer Bell from "The Wire") will star in Bone Deep alongside T.I., who will also co-produce the film.
The second movie in T.I.'s deal with Screen Gems is a drama called Boulevard, and the third is still to be determined, according to Variety.com.
Of course, filming of these movies will have to take into account T.I.'s legal schedule. For now, though, his only conflict is the series of shows he has scheduled to kick off tomorrow (June 6) in D.C. Paper Trail, meanwhile, is still planned to arrive August 12.
T.I.:
06-06 Washington, DC - Love
06-07 Detroit, MI - Chene Park *
06-12 New York, NY - United Palace Theatre
06-13 Columbus, GA - Columbus Civic Center
06-19 Chicago, IL - Congress Theater
06-20 Bonner Springs, KS - Sandstone Amphitheater (Hot 103's Big Summer Jam)
06-21 Maryland Heights, MO - Verizon Wireless Amphitheater (Hot 104.1 Super Jam)
06-25 Los Angeles, CA - The Wiltern
07-11 Baltimore, MD - 1st Mariner Arena
