Four Tet Cancels Shows Due to Illness
Well, dang. Just after the Field's Alex Willner and his band got all their documents in order to rock Brooklyn's Studio B with Four Tet, Young Knives, and the Glimmers tomorrow night (June 6), illness has forced Kieran "Four Tet" Hebden out of the gig, as well as a couple other scheduled appearances from earlier this week.
As Hebden writes on his website, "I unfortunately had to cancel my shows in San Francisco, Portland, and New York this week due to illness. I'm really sorry to anyone who headed out to any of the shows and had to find out what had happened only when they arrived at the venue. I hope to book some new U.S. dates soon to make up for this."
A statement from Four Tet's camp on the Studio B website mentions a "family emergency," so it sounds like the above-mentioned illness isn't Hebden's. Whoever's under the weather, we sure hope they feel better soon.
The Brooklyn show will go on without Four Tet, and the rest of the guy's summer tour plans appear to be on as scheduled. Thanks to reader Justin Kovarsy for the tip.
Four Tet:
06-06 Brooklyn, NY - Studio B
06-12 Barcelona, Spain - Daydream Festival
06-15 Athens, Greece - Synch Festival (with Steve Reid)
07-22 New York, NY - River to River Festival (with Steve Reid)
08-01 Olganitz, Germany - Nachtdigital Festival
08-02 Manchester, England - A Day at the Races
08-08 London, England - Underage Festival
08-16 Brighton, England - Loop Festival
