David Vandervelde Awaits Sunrise on New LP
Breezy, nomadic Nashville (via Brooklyn via Chicago via Michigan) songwriter David Vandervelde has un-Vander-veiled the details of his sophomore album. The follow-up to last year's The Moonstation House Band mini-LP is called Waiting for the Sunrise, and it comes out on August 5 via Secretly Canadian.
Previous Vandervelde collaborator and former Wilco member Jay Bennett co-wrote "California Breezes", the record's second track, but other than that and a little outside engineering help, Waiting for the Sunrise is a labor of Vandervelde's love alone.
Check out the album's soft-focus cover below.
Vandervelde is planning a full tour for the fall, but at the moment he has just two shows scheduled.
Waiting for the Sunrise:
01 I Will Be Fine
02 California Breezes
03 Hit the Road
04 Old Turns
05 Someone Like You
06 Knowledge of Evil
07 Cryin' Like the Rain
08 Need for Now
09 Lyin' in Bed
10 Waiting for the Sunrise
David Vandervelde:
07-27 Chicago, IL - Schubas
08-31 Los Angeles, CA - Fuck Yeah Fest
