Well, dang. This year's Quart Festival-- set to take place July 2-5 in Kristiansand, Norway-- has been cancelled. Organizers for the long-running fest have opted to declare bankruptcy following "ticket sales being weaker than expected and budgetary concerns," according to a press release.

Certainly this year's formidable lineup wasn't to blame, as the 2008 Quart would have featured appearances from Interpol, Death Cab for Cutie, Liars, the Streets, Justice, Battles, Dizzee Rascal, Gnarls Barkley, Spank Rock, Holy Fuck, Trentemøller, Future of the Left, Asobi Seksu, Kool Keith, Lykke Li, I'm From Barcelona, and all those other fine folks we mentioned in our initial report on the subject. No word on whether last year's Quart Festival will prove its final incarnation.
