Photos by Drew KatchenNYC Popfest kicked off in, well, NYC last night with a marathon gig at the Cake Shop headlined by those horn-saturated cover crazies in Love Is All. And indeed, the covers came with them, as Forkcast fiends may have noticed video footage of Love Is All's rendition of A Flock of Seagulls' "I Ran (So Far Away)" from last night's show.
Also on board for yesterday's big twee-in: My Favorite-descended romantics the Secret History, Sweden's Oh! Custer, and NYC's own In Interview. Popfest continues through the weekend, while Love Is All keep peddling copies of their tour EP around the East Coast until June 16.
