Nine Inch Nails Announce Slip Physical Release Info
Trent was a bud to drop The Slip on us gratis in early May, and if you haven't downloaded the latest album from Nine Inch Nails just yet, it'll be available free of charge forever and ever from the band's website. But if you're the sort who's just gotta have and hold your Slip, come later this summer, you've got some options.
In the U.S., Canada, and parts of Japan, Trent will roll out an individually numbered, limited edition version of The Slip on CD. Each of the 200,000 discs arrives with a DVD of the band rehearsing Slip tracks live, plus a 24- -page booklet and stickers. (Stickers!) The set hits Canada and the States July 22, with a Japanese release date still relegated to the land of the TBA. A virtually identical set-- sans the limited/numbered business-- is due in the UK and Europe July 21, and whenever the Australian edition is released, it, too, will be available in this manner.
In addition, an unnumbered/unlimited gatefold vinyl set, featuring a single 180 gram LP of the disc and a 24-page booklet, is due August 4 in the UK and Europe and August 5 in the States. Further info on the Japanese and Australian releases can be expected shortly.
This flurry of physical activity arrives just as Nine Inch Nails are preparing to embark on their "Lights in the Sky" tour, which finds Trent in some awfully good company in the opening band department. Can't make it out to the shows? Keep an eye on that TV. Channel Zero, perhaps?
