Slow Food Nation-- a celebration of environmentally sustainable, healthy food-- will take place in the San Francisco Bay Area from August 29 to September 1. Perhaps positing that aural stimulation leads to more sensitive taste buds, Slow Food Nation has launched a music festival within the food festival called Slow Food Rocks.

Serenading Bay Area residents for the cause of slow food will be Gnarls Barkley and the New Pornographers, as well as Ozomatli, G. Love & Special Sauce, Medeski Martin & Wood, and the John Butler Trio.

Slow Food Rocks will fill up the Great Meadow at Fort Mason (part of Golden Gate National Park) on August 30 and 31.
