In a pairing that grows more inspired with each helping of Pixy Stix you consume, Technicolor dreamboats the Go! Team and flashing lights/goofy voice destination of choice Cartoon Network have teamed up for some summer promo clips surrounding the Brighton bunch's hyperkinetic Proof of Youth B-side "Milk Crisis".

What's more, the Team will offer up a free download of a re-recorded "Milk Crisis" via their website starting July 21. This one sports vocals in both English and Japanese from Team-mate Kaori Tsuchida. And if that ain't enough, a full video for the tune, some rare remixes-- including the Cornelius remix of "Universal Speech"-- and other films will appear alongside the track.

There's plenty more where that came from, as the band has worked up a new ditty utilizing field recordings of the Gabonese Babongo tribe for an upcoming Survival International musical charity project organized by TV host Bruce Parry. Hot Chip, KT Tunstall, and Yusuf "Cat Stevens" Islam are also attached to the undertaking.

In addition, Team guitarist/drummer Sam Dook recorded with legendary Minutemen/new Stooges bassist Mike Watt recently (becoming the second Go! Team member to do so), and recently crafted an EP with Game Boy guy DJ Scotch Egg under the moniker Samethings.

This flurry of activity is just the beginning, too, as the band is in the midst of an international summer tour. Once all that wraps in September, they'll hit the studio to work up their third LP. Man, guess those Pixy Stix really do help you get things done.
