Kid606 Hits the Road with Buttholes

Immaturity levels hit all-time high

According to Ipecac, the label headed by Mr. Bungle/Faith No More frontman Mike Patton and Greg Werckman, contemporary IDM glitch-hop hero Kid606 will inexplicably be hitting the road with has-been zeroes the Butthole Surfers for a sprawling tour across North America. Ipecac, which is a drug used to induce vomiting, released Kid606's Down with the Scene LP to massive critical acclaim. The intensity of acts should make for an interesting spectacle.

n Ipecac, actually a rather fine label, describes themselves as an "honest, artist-friendly label run on a shoe string with no outrageous promotional or production costs." They are honorably releasing music they want to hear, as well as being a vehicle for Mike Patton's musical explorations with Mr. Bungle and Fantômas. Besides Patton himself, the label's roster is home to a wide variety of artists, from dark hip-hop guru Sensational to rocking maniacs the Melvins.

n Of course, Kid606 has his own label, the excellent Tigerbeat6, which has been heralded as bringing the Next Wave of IDM-- especially in our review of the Tigerbeat6, Inc. compilation. We are not shitting you; it is godly.
