New For Stars Album Due Out in May
FDA test show Danger Mouse's For Stars Mistaken For Planes of the Lid mash-up assuages insomnia in four out of five lab rats

Future Farmer has plans to release the upcoming fourth full-length from California-based indie rockers For Stars. Titled ...It Falls Apart, the record is slated for a May 25th release. According to a recent press release, the album was intended to be a "big pop record," and For Stars' major label debut. But as the recording process drew on, the album grew darker and more fractured, and spiraled out of the Milky Way of major label fodder and into a far-flung galaxy of its own.

Indeed, even more so than their last album, the excellent We Are All Beautiful People, their latest seems to exist in a state of coalesce and disintegration. The pop hooks that have garnered commercial attention for the band are clearly discernible, but one can almost see the band looking down at their instruments in helpless astonishment as their songs repeatedly dissolve into shimmering, abstruse slowcore. I hate to pigeonhole, but fans of Low or Red House Painters would really be remiss to sleep on this one. Instead, I'd advise sleeping to it, in the dark, preferably alone and lonely, watching constellations dapple over the ceiling like sparks flung out from some cosmic grinder's wheel. Tracklist:

01 I Should Have Told You
02 Calm Down Baby
03 It Doesn't Really Matter
04 In The End.
05 Shattered Glass
06 Reminds You
07 If It Falls Apart
08 Lend Out Your Love
