Someone out there on the internet is working extra hard to bum out the people of Shanghai. Someone is a dick.

According to a mysterious Facebook page, the mysterious French house duo Daft Punk will spend the weekend after they won two Grammys playing a secret show for a few lucky folks in Shanghai. But Daft Punk's PR has assured us that the announcement isn't real and that Daft Punk will not be playing Shanghai on Friday night. Or any shows anywhere for the time being. So if you paid actual money for a Daft Punk ticket, it's time to start looking for someone to whoop.

Here's what the gramatically suspect Facebook page has to say about the event: "Now the french mythical electronic band Daft Punk is coming in Shanghai for one very special night on friday 13th February with a devious concept called dafthidden 09 tour as the concert venue will be kept hidden till Friday 13th morning. Daft Punk is working on his new album for 2 years and want to share the sound with their fans only before the album launch. And they planned 3 dates in Asia including Shanghai, 2 in Europe and 1 in US."

That Facebook page lists a phone number and an email but no location for the show. According to the page, the idea is that you buy a ticket and then you find out the location via SMS on the day of the show, which is pretty convenient. The Facebook page also includes a link to this website, so some faker at least had to put in some web-design work to pull this scam off.

According to that page, tickets are now sold out. So some asshole probably made money off this.
