Air Guy Scores French Movie About Magic Deodorant

France is responsible for some of the greatest cinema of all time. Truffaut's The 400 Blows. Godard's Breathless. Melville's Army of Shadows. Will David Charhon's upcoming film Cyprien be allowed into this hallowed pantheon?

We're going to go with no.

You see, it's about a 35-year-old virgin who discovers a magic deodorant that makes him irresistible to the ladies. (Love Potion #9, consider yourself vindicated.) And you thought Americans were the only ones making Blart-ian brain killers! Not so! Check out the "Ice Ice Baby"-soundtracked Cyprien trailer here.

But the movie does feature music from Air's Jean-Benoît Dunckel, so that should be enjoyable in a somewhat aloof and dreamy way. A few snippets are playing on Dunckel's MySpace. They're sufficiently Air-y. The soundtrack is out February 23.

In message on his MySpace, Dunckel alludes to a follow-up to Air's 2007 LP, Pocket Symphony: "I am recording like crazy in our studio almost every day. Our next project is very fresh. Because we feel like that inside us. I hope u feel fresh too." No word on whether all that "fresh" talk is some kind of subliminal promotion for the magic deodorant movie.
