Birdy Nam Nam
Birdy Nam Nam is a group of DJs: Little Mike, DJ Pone, DJ Need
and Crazy B. That is the gigantic mutant crew that gave rise to
Birdy Nam Nam, a group of 4 scratcher brothers fortified by solo or team titles, a product of the most frantic
kind of "turntablism."
In the spirit of the American turntable experts, appropriating the soul music of the 1970's and a few good breakbeats, they select just the right loop, the right rhythm, the perfect texture, which they expertly assemble. Their music is the fruit of a logical development, sometimes gloomy, sometimes funky, shot through with electronic acids and methodical cuts. Birdy Nam Nam doesn't give a damn about plucking a guitar or belting a cord on a Rhodes. It's able to decapitate the trumpets and slash the pianos, and its records contain the entire history of music. Those four no longer play records, they play music. FIRST ALBUM
Mademoiselle K
You will be totally surprised by listening to the first album of Mademoiselle K.
Among her multiple influences, we note those of PJ Harvey. Here we find the oppressive atmosphere of the first albums of the english singer. But Mademoiselle K it is much more than a sum of influences, she stands out without trouble thanks to her incredible voice. She mews, howls, whispers, plays diva or macho. And she impresses by the variety of her melodic compositions... Mademoiselle K is both singular and plural but never defines herself. One day, inevitably, you will want to call her Madame.
