Hmm, I hadn't counted on multiple downloads. I tried to make an optional field, but I can't seem to get if statements to work, so for the time being you'll have to trick it in the way I've done on the most recent episode. [edit] Prototype

I've put up a test of the prototype for summaries I mentioned here 28 May 2005, the first chapter anyway. I think it works having key points (I'd do bullet points if I knew how), a quote as chapter heading and blue links. I'd also put one image per chapter at the right hand side of the text if I knew how, so an image of the Cure for chapter 1 for example. Let me know what you think. SmugglingSeaweed

I think adding "Categories" to the navigation would be good. Once I started looking through them it took me to parts of the wiki I've never seen before. "All Articles" is a bit of an overkill, but maybe a link on the community portal could help out editors.--Knockinabout 13:47, 24 August 2007 (EDT)

It looks like you have got the hang of editing Steve Show episodes. A couple things, though:

• It looks like you got the next/previous episodes wrong. They should be '15 July 2007' and '29 July 2007'
• The edited/unedited/cut download links should be inputted as though you were putting them on a regular page, e.g. [http://www.sendspace.com/file/j4su46 SS]
• If there is no info for the page, just leave it blank. If there is no description for the show, then put ''No description'' in that field.
• It looks like you added a extra forward slash in the fields that you put "N/A" into. Not a major error.

But, you got the basics down and that is what counts.

Also, one question: Should I add a "Latest Downloads" format for adding the show to the Main Page Latest Downloads box? --Squeek 22:43, 1 October 2007 (EDT)

Alright. It's all fixed up and ready to go. As for the latest downloads template, it is ludicrously easy to do. Check out the featured downloads template for an example. Now all you gotta do is change the episode template page and EVERY download link gets changed automatically. Hoorah! The copies I have are all split into segments timed as I entered on the PilkiPage, I got my copy of the shows from eBay, many moons ago, and whoever was selling it split them up into each link as he saw fit, so that's my excuse... if you want to have them on the same time as the rest of the pages for uniformity, that's fine, as I used the ones I had to hand. --Justjoe4life 13:16, 2 October 2007 (EDT)

My copy was pretty good, very organised, good quality, saved me the effort of dloading, so for 3 quid (shipping included) I was happy. When is the 9th February episode going to be covered in the rewind? I presume it's Friday? I've started the transcript, and wanted to get it finish before then.

Toffs is spelt perfectly; I clicked on the transcript, by chance, about 30 seconds after you uploaded it, obviously before you had a chance to rigorously check your code :), have you got anyone else working on the transcript, I don't mind doing the middle portion (20 - 40 minute-ish) of it.

PS: I like the use of 'boy' with a small 'b' for the posh lads' dialogue in the transcript, they don't deserve names.

See what happened is, in 1906 when King George invented Americaland, none of 'em could speak and that, so he gave him English so they could talk, but he didn't give 'em all the words, because he knew they wouldn't be able to remember 'em all, so he kept a lot of the best ones back in England, and so that's why Americanners can't speak proper and that. History - done. Next week philosophology.

Apart from the pop culture references ('Judy and Clairey' and 'Trinity Suzanne' are my favourites) the main problem is Karl mumbles, Steve speaks way too fast and Ricky does both worse than them, I have to play a lot of it three of four times to understand it usually and I'm so bloody English I eat crumpets and that. How did they ever become broadcasters.

Yeah, I tried to edit it. There's no "edit" tab or anything. And when I click "view source" it says that the page has been locked to prevent editing. I really am clueless as to how to handle this transition to the storage vault. Possibly we should have a storage vault wiki page with a FAQ and how-to, etc. and in the main page "Downloads" box have a special thing for items uploaded to the storage vault. I wanted to point out that a number of different websites are used to host the downloads but while most others seem to impose limitations unless you register and/or pay, only mediafire.com seems to allow immediate download without limitation on concurrent downloads. I just wanted to suggest that mediafire should be the primary, endorsed file host since it is so much easier for users to retrieve the files from that host. --Ab105 12:31, 20 July 2008 (BST)
