The Sacred Heart wrestling team fell to the Bearcats in a road meet at Binghamton 31-18 Wednesday night. Chris Davis (Mohawk, NY) and Paul Schweighardt recorded pins for the Pioneers, the loss drops SHU to 0-4 in the CAA.

The match started at 149 pounds where Anthony Priore (Garwood, NJ) put Sacred Heart up early with a 7-5 decision. However, the Bearcats responded by winning the next five matches from 157-197 pounds to take a 25-3 lead.

Heavyweight Schweighardt ended the skid for the Pioneers by pinning Dan Bittner of Binghamton in 1:17. Tyler Malmberg sealed the Bearcat victory with a pin fall decision at 125 pounds. Cory Dunn (Rutherford, NJ) notched a 9-2 triumph over Rob Slavin at 133 pounds. Davis ended the meet with Sacred Heart's second win by pin fall, putting Anwar Goeres' shoulders to the mat in 3:52.

The Pioneers are back in CAA action this Saturday as they take on Boston University. Action is set to begin at 5:00 pm.
