Jones, Kenworthy Named NEC Scholar-Athletes

Seniors John Kenworthy (Gloversville, NY) of the men's cross country team and Matt Jones (Stoke-on-Trent, England) of the men's soccer team have been named Northeast Conference Scholar Athletes in their respective sports. The awards were announced by the league office Thursday, along with the NEC fall honor roll, which included 75 Sacred Heart student-athletes. [+]

Cross CountryMen's Cross Country Finishes Third in NEC Championship RaceSacred Heart earned a third place finish in the NEC championship behind a second place performance from senior John Kenworthy (Gloversville, NY). Kenworthy's time of 26:33 garnered him All-NEC honors for the second time in his career. Junior Brendan Rickert (Danbury, CT) also posted a top 15 performance for the Pioneers clocking in at 27:26. 10/30/2008 - M. Cross CountryNEC Cross Country Champions to be Decided this WeekendThe NEC will hold its annual cross country championship race Saturday in Holmdel, NJ. The Pioneer men and women are both expected to finish near the top of the field after their impressive fall campaigns. The 2008 men's team now features the top three runners in school history.
