A database query syntax error has occurred. This could be because of an illegal search query (see Effectively Searching While The Department of Homeland Security is Monitoring Your IP), or it may indicate a bug in the crappily constructed PHP/MySQL software. The last attempted database query was:

SELECT cur_id,cur_namespace,cur_title,cur_text FROM cur,searchindex WHERE
cur_id=si_page AND ( (MATCH (si_title) AGAINST ('Funds to antiwar efforts')) )
AND cur_namespace IN (0,9,11) LIMIT 0, 20
from within function "SearchEngine::showResults". MySQL returned error "1016:
Can't open file: 'searchindex.MYI'. (errno: 145)".

ED and database errors

Encyclopedia Dramatica's search function is well known for being broken all the time. If you want to search for an article, you're shit out of luck. However, at least 100 lusers agree that having a broken search function is better than doing what other unfunny wikis do, who act like pussies by asking you to use Google instead.

An ED search plug-in for Firefox is available here, so that you can experience the joys of a good database error without leaving the comfort of your search bar.

Database Errors

Errors that occur in a database. These errors occur in mySQL land much more frequently than you would like to think. They are only seen when a human tries to create a warp portal to mySQL land and the portal coincidently lands on an error. Trying to solve these errors through debugging can lead to serious nightmares such as having to fix someone else's shity code, even if you wrote the code when an error comes along it's not yours anymore you should know that YOU don't make errors right?
