Bio

Kayce Ataiyero has been a reporter with the Chicago Tribune for three years. She started as a general assignment reporter in the paper’s Schaumburg bureau, where she worked for two years. Ataiyero also covered Cook County Criminal Courts – including the R. Kelly trial – and, briefly, Chicago Public Schools. Prior to joining the Tribune, Ataiyero worked for three years at The News and Observer in Raleigh, N.C., covering education and later cops and courts. She also worked at a number of major papers, including The Washington Post and The Philadelphia Inquirer.

Ataiyero is a native of Washington, D.C., and is an avid yet frugal shopper who is always looking for new ways to spend smartly. Her personal shopping philosophy is to think before you spend, doing your homework ahead of time and focusing more on needs than wants. That way, you avoid shopper’s regret.
