Dan Deacon Takes Big Band on Tour

Dan Deacon Takes Big Band on Tour

Dan Deacon is known for his one-man gigs, his glowing green skull, and music that would bring your great-grandmother back from the dead in juiced-up zombie form.

But he's switching things up on new album Bromst, due March 24 on Carpark. The album isn't quite as all-caps as Deacon's previous work, and instead of doing the solo on-the-floor live thing, he's got a full live ensemble to bring his crazed compositions to life on a North American spring tour. (A quick solo jaunt in February takes him Down Under.)

In fact, it'll probably sound a lot like the recent Brooklyn show captured by our very own Pitchfork.tv. Which means it's going to sound something like Bitches Brew Miles Davis plus spazziness and minus any sort of funk. And squirrel vocals-- lots of squirrel vocals.
