Sufjan Stevens to Tour in Support of Reissue

As we reported a month or so ago, Sufjan Stevens' debut album, A Sun Came, is presently in the process of getting all reissued by Asthmatic Kitty Records. The new version, dubbed the 2nd edition by the label, will be in stores on July 20th, although you can get your grubby little paws on one right now by ordering it from Asthmatic Kitty's website (is there anything the internet can't do?). The 2nd edition features all of the lo-fi worldly folk of the original, plus a few bonus tracks thrown in for good measure. And we bet you'd like to know exactly what we're referring to. Fine:

To celebrate, Stevens will be on the road throughout July supporting the reissue, as well as playing songs from his two most recent releases, Seven Swans, and the one about Michigan. Several different artists will be rounding out the bill, depending on which show you pop in on. Among them are singer/songwriter Denison Witmer, whose soft-spoken 70s style guitar pop has garnered comparisons to Elliott Smith, and Half-Handed Cloud, aka John Ringhofer, who plays a delightfully eccentric version of pop using whatever instruments he can find.
