Wilco Add Dates to U.S. Tour

Picking up where our late-January status report on Wilco's bid for world dominance left off, the band has recently announced plans to extend its global trek through late May by adding some U.S. dates. Supporting their fifth album, 2004's A Ghost Is Born, the tour has been rolling steadily along since late last year, and is set to include stops at a handful of festivals (including Coachella) before drawing to a close. Current dates:

03-13 Nottingham, England - Rock City
03-14 London, England - Carling Apollo Hammersmith
03-16 Paris, France - Elysee Montmarte
03-18 Zaragoza, Spain - Oasis
03-19 Vitoria, Spain - Azkena Club
03-20 Barcelona, Spain - Razzmatazz
03-21 Madrid, Spain - Aqualung

04-21 New Orleans, LA - State Palace Theatre
04-22 New Orleans, LA - Fairgrounds Racetrack
04-23 Houston, TX - Verizon Wireless Theater
04-25 Oklahoma City, OK - Coca-Cola Bricktown Event Center
04-26 Albuquerque, NM - Kiva Auditorium
04-27 Flagstaff, AZ - Orpheum Theatre
04-30 Indio, CA - Empire Polo Field (Coachella Festival)
05-28 George, WA - The Gorge

Also as previously reported, an expanded edition of A Ghost Is Born was issued in UK this week, featuring a bonus disc of new material. Two studio tracks, "Panthers" and "Kicking Television" (which was previously available as an exclusive iTunes download, as well as on the album's Japanese release), bookend live versions of three tracks taken from an October 2004 show at the Orpheum Theater in Madison, Wisc.-- "At Least That's What You Said", "The Late Greats", and "Handshake Drugs". Thankfully for U.S. fans with an aversion to overpriced imports, the band have also promised to offer the five tracks as a free download on their website to those who have already purchased the disc.

And in another quick bit of Wilco news (no, they haven't added more dates since we printed the first paragraph), A Ghost Is Born also saw its vinyl debut in the U.S. this week through Nonesuch. The two-record set is pressed on 180-gram vinyl, and features exclusive cover art. Tired of staring at the blasted egg while you get high and ponder the universe according to Tweedy? Say hello to a fucking nest!
