Pitchfork: Black Dice Prepare New Album and Tour

The megamorphing noise addicts in Black Dice will be returning to the live stage to hype their forthcoming album Broken Ear Record, which is scheduled to arrive September 6 in the U.S. on DFA/Astralwerks and on September 19 in the UK through DFA/EMI. The gradual injection of bubbly loops and rich tones have diluted the Black Dice terse, calculated, sonic sound to some extent, but have also propelled the band into an area of experimental genre-bending that has produced more and more adventurous and arresting yarns. The first single to be lifted off the album will be "Smiling Off" and it is due to bob up sometime in October. It will contain mixes by DFA, Luomo, and ZZ Pot.
