Four Tet, Tamborello Remix Ex-Cure Keyboardist

Roger O'Donnell, keyboardist for the Thompson Twins, the Psychedelic Furs, and the Cure, is responsible for putting the synth cherry on top of some of your favorite mid-to-late 80s tunes. Most famously, he played on the Cure's Disintegration. Now, he's struck out on his own.

On May 16, O'Donnell will release his solo album The Truth in Me on his own record label, 99X/10. The record was created entirely on a Moog Voyager synthesizer. (Remember the Moog Cookbook? That mid-90s band that played instrumental covers of alterna-rock and classic rock hits on Moogs? Yeah, it's kinda like that. OK, not really.)

Tracklist:

01 My Days
02 For the Truth in You
03 The Truth in Me
04 Not Without You
05 He Sent You Angels
06 Treasure
07 This Is a Story
08 This Grey Morning
09 Tired of All This
10 ...And So I Closed My Eyes

O'Donnell called upon several of his famous, synth-happy friends to remix tracks from the album. In April, the single for "For the Truth in You" was released; it included remixes by Four Tet and Jimmy Tamborello of the Postal Service/Dntel/Figurine. This month, a remix of "Treasure" by Martin Gretschmann, the keyboard player from the Notwist, is due, and Jimmy LaValle (the Album Leaf) twiddled with "Not Without You" for future release.
