Marnie Stern Announces New LP With Ginormous Title
So, you ready for this? Here goes. The new Marnie Stern album is called This Is It and I Am It and You Are It and So Is That and He Is It and She Is It and It Is It and That Is That. Yep. The whole thing.
That mouthful of a title-- oh, and all of the six-string stunners that come with it-- is due October 7 from Kill Rock Stars. Press material would suggest that Stern sought to integrate her prodigious instrumental skills more organically into her songcraft, "rather than the expressions of virtuosity that earmarked her prior work." Either way, shit's gonna shred.
Wanna learn to tear it up just like Marnie? Click on over to eBay, and you can place a bid for a one-on-one guitar lesson from Stern herself. The prize was donated by Kill Rock Stars, and a portion of the sale will go to MusiCares, a human services organization for musicians. At press time, the price was criminally low, considering the spoils.
Marnie's got a single gig lined up at the moment, at an as-yet-undetermined location in the borough of Brooklyn July 19. She also makes an appearance on Hella drummer Zach Hill's solo debut, Astrological Straights, out August 26 from Ipecac.
