Over at the MySpace blog for the independent “smasher film” SWEATSHOP, the moviemakers have announced that a prequel in comics form will be released to tie in with the feature. It’s titled SWEATSHOP: HIDE AND SHRIEK, and you can see the first image below the cut.

Fango got the scoop that the indie shocker ALBINO FARM has been picked up for U.S. DVD release by MTI Home Video. A street date has not been set, but release this fall seems likely.

Fango got an update recently from independent filmmaker JimmyO Burril that he’s about to head into production on THE CHAINSAW SALLY SHOW. The on-line spinoff of his 2004 feature, originally announced last year, will once again star his wife April Monique Burril in the title role.

Wii gamers got the shaft the first time around on the DEAD SPACE franchise. The game hit hard for Xbox 360, PS3, and PC; it spawned a comic book, tie-in DVD, soundtrack, and more, yet anyone with a loyalty leaning toward Nintendo didn't get to play. This Fall that changes as the Wii get's a brand-new installment of DEAD SPACE, and everyone else gets left out. This one is a Wii-exclusive, and we've got the trailer and details after the break.

January 20, 2009, marked a day which will forever be etched in the minds of those who had the privilege of witnessing it. A significant part of American history transpired: Barack Obama became the first half-black man to be sworn in as President of the United States since Warren G. Harding. As a privileged, Jewish Yale graduate who grew up as a dirt-poor black boy, I was very excited for this momentous occasion.

The 1979 killer-bat movie NIGHTWING, which has never been released to DVD, is making a rare return to the big screen in Los Angeles. A 35mm print of the film will be shown at midnight on Friday, February 27 at Landmark’s Nuart Theatre (11272 Santa Monica Boulevard).
