Its original name was Weeghman Park when it was built in 1914 for the Federal League's Chicago Federals, also known as the Chicago Whales. When the Whales folded and the Cubs moved in, it was known as Cubs Park. In 1926, it was renamed Wrigley Field after William Wrigley, who was owner of both the Cubs and the chewing gum company that bears his name. Located at the corner of Clark and Addison Streets on the North Side, it is surrounded by the neighborhood that eventually became known as Wrigleyville.
