People have been talking about the film version of Peter Lefcourt's best-selling novel "The Dreyfus Affair: A Love Story" for close to 15 years, but nothing's happened -- until now, that is. Producer Andrew Lang has acquired the rights, and with any luck the film will see the light of day.
The novel tells the story of Randy Dreyfus, a handsome and talented shortstop for the Los Angeles Valley Vikings. Married with children to his high-school sweetheart, Randy is shocked to realize that he's fallen in love with his second baseman.
And because of the Oscar nods to both Jake Gyllenhaal and Heath Ledger for "Brokeback Mountain," it shouldn't take even three strikes for the biggest names in Hollywood to come out on the big screen. Which young actor would you like to see cast as Randy Dreyfus in this gay baseball film? Vote now!
