Cage Set to Drop LP, EP, and Shia LaBeouf-Directed Video Soon

It still seems weird that indie rapper Cage is buddies with Shia LaBeouf. Like, what do they do together aside from hopping on Transformers cars and planning the upcoming Cage biopic starring LaBeouf, which is apparently still on. Who knows. Well, it seems like the two separated long enough for Cage to finish his long-awaited follow-up to 2005's Hell's Winter, the 14-track Depart from Me, which will cascade overflowing syllables over these United States June 30 courtesy of Definitive Jux. (Listen to the new Depart track "Nothing Left to Say" here.)

But the last day of June is still a ways away-- Cage knows this. So he's keeping the smarty pants rap fans happy with a seven-song EP called I Never Knew You, out this Spring. And guess who's directing the video for the EP's title track? If you guessed Shia LaBeouf you get a free The Battle of Shaker Heights DVD. [NB: Sorry, we can't give you anything for free. Except reviews, news, features, and audio and video content. -- Ed.] In fact, Cage and LaBeouf are giving a few hundred fans the chance to star in the clip, which is shooting this Sunday, February 22, in L.A. Interested parties should send an e-mail to RSVP@definitivejux.net.

While we wait for the fruits of Cage and Shia's bromance, you can try to catch the rapper at one of his ongoing secret shows...or at least watch footage from said secret shows at his YouTube channel.
