Jane's Addiction, Nine Inch Nails Top Sasquatch Lineup
This weekend, Trent Reznor announced on the Nine Inch Nails website that his band would tour this year with fellow Lollapalooza 1991 alums Jane's Addiction (original lineup and everything!) and that this might actually be the last Nine Inch Nails tour ever. Well, now we've got one date on that tour: the Sasquatch Music Festival, at the reportedly crazy-beautiful Gorge in Quincy, Washington.
The eighth Sasquatch Festival will jump off this Memorial Day weekend, May 23-25, and now we've got the lion's share of the lineup. Sasquatch always comes with a pretty strong lineup, but compared to previous years, this one looks particularly stacked. Among the highlights: the Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Erykah Badu, Fleet Foxes, the Decemberists, TV on the Radio, Animal Collective, Bon Iver, the newly christened Santigold, Of Montreal, Grizzly Bear, M83, and the Gaslight Anthem.
Also of note: Congratulations seem to be in order for Kings of Leon, who have finally ascended to American festival-headliner status; the Sasquatch press release even mentions them before Nine Inch Nails!
And this year, Ben Harper will play the role that Jack Johnson filled last year: The guy who plays practically every festival in America, always near the top of the bill, despite the fact that most of the hipster audiences at these festivals hates his music.
