News in Brief: Cyann & Ben, Peaches, Japanese Motors, Television Personalities

-- Parisian synth-rockers Cyann & Ben have broken up. Sort of. Not really. Three of the quartet's four members have already reconstituted themselves into a new band: Yeti Lane, who have a MySpace page up already and a limited-edition 7" on the way next month. Single-named C&B members Ben, LoAc, and Charlie are all on board; only Cyann is outside the bubble on this one. According to a note pasted on the Yeti Lane MySpace, "a new adventure began when the three musicians strayed from the ethereal atmospheres and lyrical flights dear to Cyann & Ben to embrace a more direct and rhythmic indie rock." Sounds like a new adventure began when Cyann started acting like a dick.

-- Snarly electroclash provocateur Peaches is apparently not content with the fact that "Fuck the Pain Away" gets major burn at hipster dance nights across the country, since she's still releasing music. XL will release I Feel Cream, her next album, on May 4 in Europe and May 5 in North America.

-- Orange Country Strokes-rockers Japanese Motors will not let the 3.8 we gave their debut album slow them down. On March 3, Vice will release Perception of Reality, a digital-only EP from the band. And they'll open a ton of American dates for Modest Mouse in the next month. That's the spirit, Japanese Motors!

-- Shamble-punk originators Television Personalities have teamed up with the Spanish label Elefant to release "People Think That We Are Strange", a limited-edition white-vinyl 7". It'll be out on March 16, and the TV Personalities will play a few shows in Spain next month.
