New World War Z Concept Art

Artist Daniel LuVisi has submitted a piece of his art entitled “The Battle of Yonkers” in an attempt to land a job on World War Z, Paramount Pictures zombie movie based on the best-selling Max Brooks novel. Writer J. Michael Straczynski adapted the story for the screen with Quantum of Solace director Marc Forester helming. Synopsis: Ten years after the human victory over the world wide Zombie epidemic, referred to as World War Z, Max Brooks scours the world collecting the stories and experiences of those who have survived the conflict that almost eradicated humanity. Warner Bros Announces Return Of Tomb Raider

Warner Bros. is in early development on a “Tomb Raider” reboot, according to a report from Superhero Hype. Paramount previously made the two movies based on the game, but the rights have since reverted to game makers Eidos. When Time Warner upped its stake to 19.92% in Eidos in December, films rights to the property were included as part of the deal. Dan Lin will produce the project via his Lin Pictures while Stephen Gilchrist will co-produce; Ian Livingstone of Eidos will executive produce. A-Team Movie Moving Up

Twentieth Century Fox has assembled a creative team to transform popular 1980s TV series “The A-Team” into a summer 2010 film. The studio has set Narc and Smokin’ Aces helmer Joe Carnahan to direct with Ridley Scott and Tony Scott exec producing through their Scott Free production team. The show’s original creator, Stephen J. Cannell, will also be producing. The film will start production by June 2009 for a June 11, 2010 theatrical release. Megan Fox Denies Lara Croft Rumors

According to sci-fi site io9.com, Megan Fox has officially denied being the next Lara Croft for any future “Tomb Raider” film projects, despite rumors to the contrary. LatinoReview.com first reported the rumor, which also included some details about the possibility of the 3rd “Tomb Raider” movie. However, a spokesperson for Fox “She’s not involved in the movie at all.” Lara Croft first appeared in the first “Tomb Raider” video game in 1996 and has since gone onto become an icon in the gaming industry, as well as having branched out into several other medium besides the long-running action game series. Bonnie and Clyde on the Big Screen Again

Variety reports that actors Hilary Duff and Kevin Zegers have signed on as the lead actors in Tonya S. Holly’s indie feature, The Story of Bonnie and Clyde. However, it is also reported that the new film will not be a remake, but an entirely separate film. El Zombo Fantasma To Hit Big Screen

The Dark Horse Comics title “El Zombo Fantasma” is going to get the big-screen adaptation, courtesy of Death Ray Films and Maya Entertainment. Death Ray and Maya Entertainment are planning to also adapt the title in a new animated series following the live-action movie. Kevin Munroe, one of the creators of the original comic, will be writing and directing “El Zombo Fantasma”, with Chris Patton and Robert Sanchez producing. John Carter Warlord Of Mars Director Talks

Ain’t It Cool News has some information garnered at the Writer’s Panel of the Santa Barbara Film Festival from Andrew Stanton. Stanton, the director of the critically-acclaimed 2008 Pixar flick “Wall-e”, talked about his upcoming project tackling the pulp classic “John Carter: Warlord Of Mars”.
