Tanya meets her brief, Kendra Hill-Smythe, who explains that she’s been charged with attempted murder. Tanya’s stunned to hear she could be banged up - there’s a witness who saw the car speed up towards Max.
Abi vows to cut off contact with her mum, and Lauren and Jack struggle to cope. Dot tells Bradley that Max has been rushed into surgery, but Bradley’s cold. “Have you any idea how often I thought about doing what Tanya did?”
Kendra pays Jack a visit: it’s not looking good for Tanya. The witness testimony changes everything, and DI Keeble’s withholding their identity. Kendra warns Jack that this is one case he can’t fix - Tanya’s a lost cause.
Despite Zainab’s misgivings, Masood goes to ask the bank manager for a loan to expand Masala Masood. After he gets a knock-back, he makes a mysterious phone call. Later, he lies to Zainab that bank came up with the cash.
Phil’s raging - someone burgled Suzy’s flat and robbed his stuff. Suspicious of Sean, Roxy catches him red-handed with the goods at the allotments. She understands Sean’s motives but forces him to return the swag.
Tanya attends a bail hearing, but Kendra’s pleas fall on deaf ears and she’s remanded in custody. Lauren bursts in crying for her mum. She’s ushered out by Jack, who promises her he’ll make everything right.
When Sean goes to accept Archie’s offer of a loan, Archie humiliates him into practically pleading for the money, before saying he’s already given it to Roxy. Later, Ben challenges Suzy to bake a better cake than Shirley.
With Kendra’s words ringing in his ears, Jack summons DI Turner. If he doesn’t find out the name of the witness, he’ll grass him up over the gun. Turner’s fuming but comes up with the goods. The witness is Stacey Slater.
