From the same bunch that brought you those twisted Teddy Scares, Apple Head Factory, comes Tofu the Vegan Zombie. Tofu isn’t your normal zombie- a harmless vegetarian, he wonders amongst humans striking fear into the heart of vegetables.
I became a fast fan of the series after seeing the first episode of the cartoon staring Billy West (FUTURAMA) and Ellen Muth (DEAD LIKE ME), and I’m anxiously awaiting more. So far, Tofu is the first toy figure amongst an eclectic cast. Hopefully as the series progresses, we will see toys of some of the other characters, but until then little Tofu will just have to do.
Shuffling in at an impressive 8 inches tall, Tofu comes out of the box with vegetable covered stand and baked tofu square that fits squarely atop his head, which I’m told can switch him from meat eater to beet eater. Although simplistic in design, relying mostly on paint rather then detailed sculpting, the figure still possesses a hipness and originality that will fit nicely into your collection. Having only five points of movement and a base that is a little difficult to work with, posing is limited. However, once in place Tofu stands out amongst other standard zombie figures and is sure to get a few curious questions. Be ready for them by brushing up on your Tofu knowledge at tofutheveganzombie.com. Tofu is a very welcome and creative addition to a often oversaturated zombie market, and is well deserving of a place in your horror toy collection. |
