March 3 vote on Measure B, Nguyen recall
On March 3, Los Angelenos voted down the hotly-contested Solar B by a very narrow margin, while over in San Jose, Madison Nguyen retained her seat in a recall. Across seven counties, voters had mixed opinions on phone tax, sales tax and parcel tax measures.

Four ballot measures on Maine ballot

Three ballot initiatives and one veto referendum have obtained enough signatures to qualify for the 2009 ballot in Maine; they are the Excise Tax Repeal, Tax Relief (TABOR), Medical Marijuana Initiative and the Repeal the School Consolidation Laws Referendum.

Collaboration project for March 2009

The March collaboration project is building information about California ballot measures from 1922-1990.

The Collaboration of the Month for February was adding information about recall campaigns. Contributors started articles and added information to 33 articles about 2009 recalls.

The collaboration for January was adding adding information about local ballot measures. Contributors started 50 new articles about local measures in 19 states. The 2009 ballot measure calendar lists most of them.
