California Proposition 74 appeared on the November 8, 2005 special statewide ballot[1] in California, where it failed. The measure was an initiated state statute.
The summary of the initiative prepared by the Attorney General of California read:
Increases probationary period for public school teachers from two to five years. Modifies the process by which school boards can dismiss a teaching employee who receives two consecutive unsatisfactory performance evaluations.
