Summary: De La Salle looked like it could be the next team upset by No. 14 seed Proviso East when it trailed 12-4 with 5 minutes 24 seconds left in the first quarter. De La Salle would bounce back and end the quarter with a 14-0 run that gave it a 25-17 lead. The Meteors entered the third quarter up nine and would soon take a 14-point lead when Andre Henley followed up a basket with a steal and a lay-up seconds later. Henley again wowed the pro-Meteors crowd with 5:46 left in the fourth when he muscled his way past his defender for a three-point play, giving De La Salle a 71-46 lead.
Top performers: De La Salle Sophomore F Andre Henley 30 points, 12 rebounds; sophomore C Michael Shaw 14 points. Proviso East Junior guard Rishaad Alexander 15 points, all on three pointers.
The bonus: "I looked at the scoreboard and saw I had 30 points and was like 'Wow'. I thought I only had like 20," Henley said.
