Call for Participants: Review of Rehabilitation and Reintegration Programmes for Prisoners, Ex-Prisoners and Their Families

Note: This call is open to South African projects only.

The Institute for Security Studies (ISS) and the Civil Society Prison Reform Initiative (CSPRI) will shortly be conducting a survey of offender rehabilitation and reintegration programmes provided by civil society organisations in South Africa. The purpose of the study is to develop principles for good practice in offender reintegration based on a description of current services. The findings of the study will be published by the ISS and be available as a resource to practitioners.

We are in the process of identifying participants for the review. If you or your organisation is rendering services to prisoners, ex-prisoners, and their families, we would like to hear from you. The review needs to be as inclusive as possible and we would especially want to include smaller organisations based in rural communities. Participation in the survey is voluntary and all information will be treated confidentially.

If you wish to participate in the review, please send your contact information to the following address or e-mail with the subject heading “Participation in Offender Reintegration Review” to:
