From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Pye Corner railway station is a proposed station to serve a residential area in the west of Newport, South Wales as part of a future phase development of the Ebbw Valley Railway. The station will be located at Western Valley Road in the Bassaleg district of Newport, close to the former Bassaleg Junction station. The Newport City Council unitary development plan identifies the location for the station and safeguards it from other development. The Network Rail Route Utilisation Strategy published in November 2008 confirms the SEWTA aspiration for a station at Pye Corner.[1]
