Vacant house fire spreads to neighboring homes in South Toledo

An arson fire in South Toledo Tuesday morning destroyed a vacant house and heavily damaged two neighboring houses, authorities said.

Firefighters were called to 239 Sumner St. about 3 a.m. and found the house fully engulfed in flames.

The blaze had already spread to houses on both sides, but the residents escaped unhurt, authorities said.



Damage to the house at 237 Sumner was estimated at $50,000 and damage to the house at 245 Sumner was estimated at $35,000.
