Really? That would be impressive, since Conficker A wasn't discovered until late November. The patch to close the original infection vector was released in October, but Conficker has become more sophisticated since that time. Here's a good overview on Conficker.

Seriously. I harp on my parents about this, but every time one of them has a computer problem and I use their computer every damned thing is like 3 months out of date. At least my mom finally upgraded so I can leave all the automatic updates on without bringing her computer to a halt.
